Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon

When I was a young child, I played games from time to time, but I didn't get more involved in video games until middle school, through my nephew(and a crush I had at the time, but that's another story for another day). I would watch him play games on the Gamecube, and after a while I would join him in certain games. One of my favorites that I loved to watch him play was Luigi's Mansion.

Luigi's Mansion took the place of the "shadow character" coming into light, Luigi, thinking he won a mansion. What it turns about to be is a that the prize was a lie, and the mansion is full of ghosts and Boos, and they have Mario captive. It is up to Luigi to save his brother. I loved this game for many reasons.

First of all, this was the first time I've seen Luigi in the spotlight. I mean, there are games that you can play as Luigi. This game was the first game, as far as I knew of, that was all about Luigi. It was him that was saving the day, not Mario.
Secondly, the game had a lot of comedic qualities. There was some funny dialogue and silly puns with the names of the Boos. Not only that, but just watching Luigi run around the mansion entertained me, seeing his reactions to his surroundings(even if it does sound sadistic). If there is one thing I know, I am a sucker for comedy.
Thirdly, even if the graphics weren't the greatest, I loved them. Come on, it took place in a mansion! I also loved the designs of the characters, the paintings on the wall, and just watching the animations of the ghosts and characters. If you don't know, I plan on being an animator for my dream career, and I am a very artsy person. I don't believe that graphics are the most important thing in games, but they are one of my favorite aspects of them, right next to it's OST(original soundtrack).
Lastly, the game was fun! It wasn't that difficult, and for the most part I knew where I was supposed to go. I see myself as a super-casual social player. When I usually play video games(or any games, for the matter) it is when I am with friends. If I am playing a game by myself, I can view myself with the heart of a child. By that, I mean that I don't really like playing really challenging games, for I don't play games for the challenge. In fact, difficult games discourage me most of the time. I usually end up aiming for family-friendly games, and this one fit the bill.

So, hearing the possibility of a second Luigi's Mansion coming out made me quite happy. Especially since I don't have my own copy of the first game. I thought it would be a good chance to play something new while hopping onto Nostalgia Express. Ever since the game came out, I have been avoiding it for the most part, since I don't want to spoil it for when I do get it. Even if I don't get it for Christmas, I do plan on getting it at one point or another.

So, what do you guys think? If you don't have it, are you looking forward to getting it? If you do, what do you think about the game? Does it live up to the first game, in your opinion? Keep it spoiler-free, though, ok?

Have a great day! :)
